Our database includes all inscriptions we collected in Jewish cemeteries at locations listed under the "Database" tab. The list is being expanded as we index subsequent cemeteries.
The cataloging process in Warsaw took place between 2006 and 2010. All remaining Mazovian Jewish cemeteries were indexed in 2010-2011. In 2012 we have founded he Foundation for Documentation of Jewish Cemeteries to continue indexing Jewish cemeteries in Poland.
From the beginning the project of the inventory and the Internet database was sponsored by Mr Emile Karafiol.
Completing the inventory of Mazovian cemeteries was possible thanks to a grant from the Polish Ministry of Culture and the support of Mr Emile Karafiol, as well as the Jewish Community of Warsaw and Mel and Deana Fishman of Thornhill, Ontario, Canada. The 2013 indexing projects in lubelskie, Podlasie and łomżyńskie were fully sponsored by the Warsaw Jewish Community. In 2015, the Jewish Community of Warsaw subsided the indexation of cemeteries in Krynki, Jasionówka and Tykocin. In 2016, thanks to the Malcolm Stern Grant Award we received from the IAJGS, it was possible to develop the Białystok project. In the same year we received a grant of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland to index cemeteries in Żywiec and Kęty. In 2017 we received yet another grant from the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland to index the cemetery in Starachowice, as well as began indexing Tomaszów Mazowiecki with thee support of JRI-Poland.
The database includes also photographs made in Prudnik by Łukasz Wylęgała, who kindly allowed us to use them and add data obtained from them to our records.
