The database is managed by the Foundation for Documentation of Jewish Cemeteries.
Our database includes all inscriptions we collected in Jewish cemeteries at the following locations: Warszawa (Okopowa), Warszawa (Radosc), Szydłowiec, Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, Otwock, Pruszków, Wysokie Mazowieckie, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Sochaczew, Karczew, Piaseczno, Żyrardów, Radom, Płock, Siedlce, Góra Kalwaria, Błonie, Mszczonów, Wiskitki, Żelechów, Garwolin, Łaskarzew, Okuniew, Brok, Węgrów, Gąbin, Wyszków, Łosice, Sierpc, Przytyk, Sopot, Palmiry, Korczyna, Wieliczka and Strzegowo.
The database includes also photographs made in Prudnik by Łukasz Wylęgała, who kindly allowed us to use them and add data obtained from them to our records.
The cataloging process in Warsaw took place between 2006 and 2010. All remaining Mazovian Jewish cemeteries were indexed in 2010-2011. Prudnik, Palmiry, Korczyna, Sopot, Wieliczka and Warszawa Radość were added in 2012. We have now begun to work on several projects with the general goal of indexing all Jewish cemeteries in Poland. If you are interested in a specific cemetery or region, we will be happy to create a full database in turn for financial support - please contact us at gesia@jewish.org.pl.
From the beginning the project of the inventory and the Internet database was sponsored by Mr Emile Karafiol.
Completing the inventory of Mazovian cemeteries was possible thanks to a grant from the Polish Ministry of Culture and the support of Mr Emile Karafiol, as well as the Jewish Community of Warsaw and Mel and Deana Fishman of Thornhill, Ontario, Canada.
Please direct all inquiries concerning the functioning of the database to our team at gesia@jewish.org.pl.
